Organization: The Innovation Lab at the 亚色视频 Center for Educational Innovation and Opportunity Location: 600 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, VA Pay Rate: $15/hour Position Duration: June 10, 2026 鈥 August 10, 2026 Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, generally between 9:00 AM 鈥 2:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional evening programming and events

Position Summary
The Innovation Lab at the 亚色视频 Center for Educational Innovation and Opportunity is seeking three energetic and dependable iLab Assistants to support summer programming and daily makerspace operations. iLab Assistants will help facilitate hands-on STEM and makerspace experiences for youth, assist with camps and workshops, support participants using makerspace equipment, and provide general operational support for Innovation Lab programming.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in education, STEM, makerspaces, youth programming, educational technology, or community engagement.
Responsibilities
鈼 Assist with the facilitation of summer camps, workshops, and educational programming
鈼 Support youth participants during hands-on STEM and makerspace activities
鈼 Help supervise and maintain makerspace areas and equipment
鈼 Provide basic operational and administrative support during programs
鈼 Assist with setup, cleanup, organization, and preparation of program materials
鈼 Support Innovation Lab staff, interns, and participants during daily operations
鈼 Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
鈼 Assist with occasional evening programs or special events as needed
Preferred Qualifications
鈼 Interest in STEM education, makerspaces, educational technology, or youth development
鈼 Experience working with youth or in educational/community settings preferred
鈼 Strong communication and teamwork skills
鈼 Ability to take initiative and adapt in a fast-paced environment
鈼 Comfortable learning and assisting with technology and makerspace equipment
鈼 Dependable, organized, and positive attitude
Additional Information
This is a temporary summer position running from June 10 through August 10, 2026. Scheduling flexibility is preferred to support occasional evening programming and special events.
