Dr.鈥疎ric J. Lowe has practiced at Children鈥檚 Hospital of The King鈥檚 Daughters (CHKD) as a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist since 2004. A graduate of Emory University School of Medicine, Dr.鈥疞owe completed pediatric residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at St.鈥疛ude Children鈥檚 Research Hospital, where a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology was also earned.
Over nearly two decades at CHKD, Dr.鈥疞owe has built a nationally and internationally recognized clinical and research career, including leadership of an international National Cancer Institute clinical trial and becoming a world leader in the treatment of anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
Dr.鈥疞owe has held numerous leadership roles, including Division Director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Vice President of the Children鈥檚 Specialty Group, and continues to lead efforts focused on clinical excellence, research expansion, education, and institutional growth.

Dr.鈥疎ric J. Lowe is an internationally recognized leader in pediatric hematology/oncology research, with a primary focus on anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) and non鈥慔odgkin lymphoma. Dr.鈥疞owe served as the principal investigator of a multi鈥慽nstitutional, randomized Phase II clinical trial evaluating novel targeted therapies for newly diagnosed pediatric ALCL. Designed in collaboration with international investigators and industry partners, the study enrolled 137 patients from more than 80 institutions worldwide and represented one of the largest trials conducted in this disease.
The primary outcomes of this trial were published in Blood (2021) and the Journal of Clinical Oncology (2023), with Dr.鈥疞owe as first author on both manuscripts. Dr.鈥疞owe has authored numerous additional peer鈥憆eviewed publications, the majority focused on pediatric non鈥慔odgkin lymphoma. Nationally, Dr.鈥疞owe is an active member of the Children鈥檚 Oncology Group Non鈥慔odgkin Lymphoma Steering Committee and serves as Chair of the Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma Subcommittee. Internationally, Dr.鈥疞owe has been appointed Chair of a European Data Safety Monitoring Committee for a lymphoma trial investigating a novel therapeutic agent and is a frequent invited speaker at international scientific meetings, including service on the scientific committee for multiple International Symposia on Non鈥慔odgkin Lymphoma.
