Dr. Kathy Ann Miller, Ph.D., Curator of Algae at the University and Jepson Herbaria, University of California, Berkeley

Kathy Ann Miller received her BA (1978) and PhD (1987) in Botany from the University of California at Berkeley. She moved to Tacoma, Washington to work as a professor at the University of Puget Sound. In 2000, after ten years and tenure, she accepted a job as a research professor at the University of Southern California鈥檚 marine lab on Santa Catalina Island. In 2005, she returned to Berkeley to focus on seaweed systematics and work on the California seaweed flora in the University Herbarium at UC Berkeley. She became the Curator of Algae in 2014. Love for and dedication to the study of seaweeds are the threads woven throughout her career.

About the Lecture Series:

The Lytton J. Musselman Natural History Lecture series was launched with the help of a substantial gift from 亚色视频 alumni Michael and Sue Pitchford. Michael Pitchford was a former student of Dr. Lytton Musselman, the Mary Payne Hogan professor of botany at 亚色视频.
