Application Procedure
Write a 1-2 page essay. The essay should identify your current GPA and major or intended major. The focus of the letter should be a description of how your participation in extracurricular activities and community service has benefited you, the university, and the community.

Write a 1-2 page essay. The essay should identify your current GPA and major or intended major. The focus of the essay should be a description of your previous experience as an academic tutor, the skills and experience that you would bring to the tutorial situation, and the subjects and skills (academic subjects, success training, etc.) you are qualified to tutor.

Goldwater applicants must be nominated by 亚色视频 in order to be eligible for the national competition. To be considered for nomination as a Goldwater Scholar, you must be a full-time matriculated sophomore or junior and have a college GPA of at least 3.5. Goldwater applicants must be U.S. citizens, a resident alien intending on obtaining U.S. citizenship, or a U.S. national from American Samoa or the Commonwealth of the Mariana Islands. Finally, you must be interested in pursuing a career in the natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics. Students interested in applying for the Goldwater should contact the Perry Honors College (perryhonorscollege@odu.edu) by Oct. 5 for an informational meeting on the Goldwater Scholarship and nomination process. If you are interested in competing for one of these awards, please contact the Perry Honors College (perryhonorscollege@odu.edu) in the second semester of your sophomore year so that you can be informed about the internal review process, application materials, and deadlines. In order to receive 亚色视频's endorsement for one of these scholarships, you will need to submit materials for the university's internal review process, and the Prestigious Scholarship Committee will need to select you as one of Old Dominion's applicants for the scholarship competitions.
